National Film Award winner popular actress Purnima has been acting in Eid special dramas and telefilms for last two years. This year due to coronavirus she will not be seen any Eid telefilm or drama. She confirmed the matter yesterday. She has been passing times at her residence in the capital’s Nikunja area during lockdown. She does not come out from her home now due to corona pandemic. Some directors requested her to work in their Eid projects. But Purnima gently refused them to work.
Purnima informed that during Corona time she doesn’t have any interest to take part in shooting maintaining social distance and hygiene because her daughter and mother are staying with her at her home. In fact, overall situation does not favourable to work. Today is Purnima’s birthday. She does not have any plan to celebrate the day.
While talking in this regard Purnima said, “Due to Coronavirus not only Bangladesh but also the world is facing crisis situation. Everybody is panicked about Coronavirus now. Somebody stays at their homes to keep them safe from the virus. Some others are working outside their residences. Life is becoming more challenging day by day. So, I have no special plan to celebrate my birthday right now. Everybody pray for me and my daughter and mother. May Allah keep us well.”
Meanwhile, due to Coronavirus, shooting of Purnima-starrer and Noim Imtiaz Neyamul directed two films – Jam and Gungchil remain stalled. Ferdous is producing Gungchil, while late hero Manna’s production house, Kritanjali is producing Jam.
Purnima got the National Film Award for one time for acting in Kazi Hayat’s Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilona. In 1997, she debut her career as heroine against Riaz in Zakir Hossain Raju directed film E Jibon Tomar Aamar. Moner Majhe Tumi, Khobordar, Mone Rekho Aamai, Mayer Somman, Niswasey Tumi Biswasey Tumi, Megher Pore Megh, Suva, Hridoyer Kotha, Badha, Sathi Tumi Kar, Maa Aamar Swargo, Akash Chhoya Bhalobasa, Ke Ami, etc are Purnima-starrer mentionable films.
