Feature film Chironjib Mujib was made based on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Oshomapto Atmojiboni. Before starting its shooting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself rectified and corrected
dialogues of the movie. Jewel Mahmud wrote the script while Nazrul Islam gave direction of Chironjib Mujib. The film is offered by Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana. National Film Award winning
actress Purnima played the role of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib in the movie. Shooting of this movie has already finished and it is expected to release on September 28. Purnima is very much excited to work in the movie Chironjib Mujib. She said,
“To work in this film is a great achievement in my
acting career. It is really a likeable and also feels proud to me that I played the role of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mother of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in movie Chironjib Mujib. I took part
in shooting of this film for four days. The persons, who came from the Prime Minister Office to the shooting spot, they were well informed about Bangamata and they co-operated me a lot during shooting of this movie. After seeing Bangamata’s
pictures I took make-up. Before that, I read the script properly. While taking part in the shooting I realised closely about Bangamata’s lifestyle, her respect to Bangabandhu, her sacrifices for becoming Bangabandhu and how she passed struggling life with Sheikh Hasina, who was younger during that time. This type of realisation never comes to everybody’s life. I am really grateful to them who gave me the scope to play the role of Bangamata in the movie. I don’t know did I portray Bangamata’s role properly. Now I am very much eager to see myself on the screen in the movie.” Purnima also informed that she is not returning to shooting right now. She has no plan in this regard. Due to corona pandemic, Purnima’s two movies are waiting to get release date.
