Feature film Chiranjib Mujib has been made based on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Asomapto Atmajiboni. National Film Award winning actress Purnima played the role of Bongomata Fazilatunnesa Mujib in the movie. Chiranjib Mujib has already released in Modhuban
cinema hall in Bogura. Purnima went to Bogura by helicopter from Dhaka last Wednesday. The actress took part in the promotional campaign of the movie and also returned to Dhaka on that day. Though the movie was released in only cinema hall but the viewers who watched it they appreciated Purnima’s acting in role of Bongomata. She is getting appreciation from the movie-lovers.
Purnima informed that on the first day of the show, students got the opportunity to watch the movie without ticket. Tickets for next few days were booked. After disclosing the matter, viewers were showing their keen interests to watch the movie in Bogura. Nazrul Islam directed the movie and wrote the dialogues. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the corrections and revisions of the dialogue. Jewel Mahmud is the screenplay writer and creative director of the movie produced by Liton Haider. While sharing her feelings to play the role in the movie Purnima said, “It was really a great achievement in my acting career to play the role of Bongomata in this movie. It was also delightful matter to me. During acting in this role, I could realise the ideology of Bongomata, her respect and loves to Bangabandhu, and also her sacrifice for Bangabandhu to become Bangabandhu and how she passed struggling life along with our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In fact, many actors cannot give such opportunity to play the role like Bongomata. I believe it was really a great achievement in my career. The movie will be released across the country in February.”
Ahmed Rubel played the role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Khairul Alam Sabuj and Dilara Zaman played roles of Bangabandhu’s father and mother respectively in the movie. Now Purnima is also working as judge of a music reality show.
