Progressive Students Alliance (PSA) on Sunday submitted a memorandum to the Chancellor and President Abdul Hamid demanding withdrawal of cases against general students, leaders of student organizations, and punishment to the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists who assaulted
and molested students on January 15 and 23.
They also demanded immediate student union election in all the educational institutions across the country to restore democratic environment and stoppage of question leaks for the sake of protecting education sector from complete destruction.
Earlier, leaders and activists brought out a rally from Madhu’s canteen of Dhaka University and paraded through the campus and marched towards the BB Avenue.
While addressing the rally, student leaders said that Chhatra League men established a reign of terror in all the educational institutions across the country.
They also threatened to wage tougher movement across the country to press home their just demands.
They also announced to lay siege to the education ministry on February 25 demanding punishment to culpable persons who involved with question leak and resignation of the minister who ‘utterly failed’ to impede the continuous question leak.
Letter, a team, combaining platforms’ central leaders headed by alliance coordinator GolamMostofa submitted the memorandum to the president at Bangabhaban on Sunday noon.
