Journalists of Rangpur working at different print and electronic media formed a human chain in front of Rangpur Press Club on Sunday demanding immediate arrest and punishment of the attackers on journalist SM Piyal, Staff Reporter of a local daily Rangpur Chitra.
Under the banner of different journalists’ organisations, the local journalists of the print, electronic and online media, photojournalists and video journalists formed the human chain in front of Rangpur Press Club.
President of Rangpur press Club Sadrul Alam Dulu presided over the human chain programme.
Later , Under the banner of Sammilita Sangbadik Samaj, the journalists also brought out a rally in the city, besieged the SP office and handed over a memorandum to the Police Super of Rangpur.
In the memorandum they said if the authority concerned failed to arrest the attackers of Journalist SM Piyal within 48 hours they would go for a tougher movement.
They also demanded security of the journalists.
