The Parliamentary Standing Committee onIndustries Ministry on Wednesday recommended the government to takepunitive action against those preparing fake vouchers in theBangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC).
It also recommended the appointment of an expert consultant to make the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation Bill, 2016 which has already been as placed in Parliament for making the proposed law more modern and time-befitting one.
The parliamentary watchdog came up with the recommendations at its 15th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Omor Faruk Chowdhury in the chair, said a handout. It asked for forming a coordination committee with the consultant and officials concerned from the ministry and the legislative department of the Parliament Secretariat to finalise the bill following the existing law properly and adequately. The parliamentary body suggested the enactment of every probable law keeping in mind the next 50 years.
Committee members Habibur Rahman Mollah, Abul Kalam Md Ahasanul Hoque Chowdhury and Rahim Ullah attended the meeting.
The Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry and other high officials from the ministry were present.
