Abir Rayhan :Publishing houses did brisk business as huge number of visitors swarmed onto the month long Amar Ekushey Boi Mela on Wednesday.After opening the book fair at 3:00 pm, visitors entered fair premises. They roamed about different stalls, buying their essential books.”Book sales are rising as people started buying books. We expect better days in future”, according to the publishers.One hundred and five new books arrived on Wednesday, the 10th day of the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela and three new books were unveiled on the Nazrul Mancha of Bangla Academy premises.The books are: Damal Chheler Dol of Lipi Monowar published by Promito Prokash, Nirbachita 100 Chhara of Hasan Hafiz published by Somoy Prokashoni, Ekjon Eka Manush of Swapon Reza published by Mizan Publishers, Valobashar Chhoa of Shah Alam Saju and Ratir Dekha Shadinata of Rubama Yeasmin published by Ananya, Sono Bataser Galpo of Haruki Murakami published by Oitizza and Gonit Mamar Camus Rahosey of Shammi Tultul published by Protiva Prokash.A discussion titled “Bangladesh Shishu Sahittya Charca: Otiet Thekey Bartaman was held in the main stage of Academy. Writer Rashid Haider presided over the function while Shahin Akhter presented the keynote. Aslam Sunny, Rashed Rouf and Sujon Boru was perticipate as the discussant.A cultural function was held in the main stage of AcademyAt 4:00 pm a discussion titled“Bangla Academir Hirokjoyonti: Amar Ekushey Granthamela- Otiet Thekey Bartaman” will be held today (Thursday) in the main stage of the Academy. Emirates Publisher Mohiuddin Ahmed will preside at the function while Badiuddin Nazir will present the keynote.
