The drivers of the public transports in the port city put blockade on roads for about 2 hours yesterday from 11 am with the sequel of demand of extortions by traffic sergeants .The siege programme was held at Kolonel Hat area under Akbar Shah thana in city.
Eye witnesses sources said on duty traffic sergeant Nurul Alam demanded extortions from a driver of public transport with lame excuse of unfair transport documents and insulted the driver by beating in his head after long altercations. Being agitated, the transport drivers put their transports haphazardly in road blocking the roads.
