The public servants must reach services at the peoples’ doorsteps in a hassle-free manner for building a middle income Bangladesh through materialising the Vision 2021, high officials said. They made the observations yesterday at a service providing ceremony followed discussion organised by the district administration at conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur in observance of the International Public Service Day (ISPD)-2016.
Before discussion, Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hasan Ahmed distributed cheques of Taka four lakh among 41 persons and institutions there from personal fund of former President and Prime Minister’s Special Envoy Hussein Muhammad Ershad.
Besides, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) organised ‘On Spot Motorcycle Registration’ ceremony on the Divisional Commissioner’s Office premises in the city in observance of the day.
Deputy Commissioner Md Rahat Anwar presided over the main discussion participated by heads of different government departments and organisations, public representatives, civil society members, political leaders and elite of the city.
Additional Police Super ABM Zakir Hossain, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Rangpur Zila Parishad Arzoo Ara Begum, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-General) Dr ATM Mahbubul Karim, ADC (Revenue) Mostain Billah, Secretary of Rangpur City Corporation Fazlul Kabir, Senior District Information Officer Humayun Kobir, District Fisheries Officer Dr Zillur Rahman, addressed, among others.
The speakers narrated the goals of Vision 2021 and digitisation programme that has already brought about an epoch-making renaissance accelerating development in building a hunger-free middle income digital Bangladesh by 2021.
They narrated the government services being provided easily to people using digitised information and communication technologies through e-services at union, upazila and district level information service centres, web portals, help desks and other ways.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon the public servants for building welfare-oriented, pro-people and accountable administration to reach all government services at peoples’ doorsteps at the quickest possible time in a hassle-free and transparent manner He asked them to fulfill expectations of the common people in realising the Vision 2021 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
