The Cabinet on Monday approved the list of government holidays for 2015 calendar year. The approval came from the Cabinet meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said there would be 15 general holidays or public holidays in 2015 alongside 8 (eight) holidays by the executive order of the government.
The 15 general holidays include nine weekly holidays while out of the 8 (eight) holidays by executive order of the government, there would be 3 (three) weekly holidays.
The Cabinet Secretary also informed that Eid-e-Miladunnabi would be observed in calendar year 2015 twice-the first likely on 04 January 2015 and the second on 24 December 2015.
Ministers and State Ministers attended the meeting while concerned secretaries were present.
