Public hearing on disability inclusive UP services held at Dhamrai

Access Bangladesh Foundation in association with Kulla Union Parishad has organised a ‘Public Hearing’ on “Disability Inclusive Union Parishad Services” at Kulla Union Parishad premises, Dhamrai, Dhaka supported by Commonwealth Foundation on Wednesday.
 Kulla Union Parishad Chairman Mr. Kalipado Sarker attended the event as the chief guest. Members and Secretary of Kulla Union Parishad, civil society representatives, persons with disabilities, parents of persons with disabilities and community people were present in the Public Hearing. The event was started by the welcome address of Ms. Mohua Paul, Co-Founder of Access Bangladesh. Mr. Litan Baruri, Monitoring Coordinator of Access Bangladesh Foundation presented a report which covered a brief of commonwealth funded project, Kulla Union Parishad and its services, objective of public hearing. He was also the moderator of the event. After the presentation of the report the moderator open the floor for the persons with disabilities to raise their questions, complaints and recommendations to the service providers. The Chairman and members answered all the questions very patiently.  
“We will bring all the persons with disabilities under the massive social safety net programs of the government and provide them training to become entrepreneurs and for engagement with income generating activities to achieve self-reliance,” the chairman said.
