Edinson Cavani doesn’t have the charisma of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But the Uruguay striker is proving he has all the skills needed to eclipse the Swedish star’s achievements at Paris Saint-Germain.
Cavani, the new leader of PSG’s attack since Ibrahimovic’s departure to Manchester United, scored twice in a 2-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday in the French league, extending his tally to 11 goals in nine matches in all competitions.
Criticized for his profligacy earlier this season, Cavani has silenced his critics in the best possible way in recent weeks, and is the league leading scorer with eight in seven games. Cavani’s hot streak has helped PSG cope with a disappointing start to its domestic campaign in which the French capital side has already lost twice.
