The playground of T&T Gate Government Primary School has been occupied by Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC).
Locals organised a human chain and blocked the hospital road in district town with a claim of settlement the school ground in school’s name by free from possession yesterday.
With school students and their guardians, Khagrachhari Municipality Councilor Abdul Majid led the human chain.
They complained, about more than two hundred students are studying in the school. The school adjacent ground was used for students’ PT and sports. Further, locals have been using the field for social work for a long time.
But, six months ago without taking the tender, Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) took possession of the field without any notice, they added.
Municipality councilor Abdul Majid said in the human chain, “By occupying the school ground, the Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) has started the construction of the building named ‘Probin Hitaisi Sangha’. Which is completely out of provision”.
Considering the students and the locals, he demanded to the government to recover the occupied ground and disposal with the school’s name.
