The Prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Thursday started placing arguments in the crimes against humanity case against Forkan Mallik, alleged Razakar commander from Mirzaganj of Patuakhali.
Prosecutor Mokhlesur Rahman Badal started arguments on the first charge out of the total five, but could not conclude within the day’s proceedings.
Justice Obaidul Hassan, Chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-2, then adjourned the hearing till May 31.
A total of 14 prosecution witnesses, including the investigation officer, testified against Forkan. The second tribunal on December 18, 2014, indicted Mallik and framed five specific charges of crimes against humanity including murder, rape, torture and forced conversion.
Police arrested Forkan on June 25, and he is in jail since then.
