BSS, Dhaka :
Prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Wednesday concluded placing arguments on charges that were framed against Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer Mawlana Abdus Subhan.
Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon argued on the 9th and also the last charge, narrating the Jamaat leader’s involvement with the abduction, confinement, torture and subsequently killing of four innocent civilians in Muladuli Razakar camp and Iswardi army camp in Pabna.
Placing arguments on testimonies of 10th and 14th prosecution witnesses, Simon said the depositions and the cross-examinations of those two witnesses proved the charge beyond any reasonable doubt.
After the conclusion of the arguments on charges, Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-2, adjourned the hearing till Sunday. Prosecutor Tureen Afroz is scheduled to place arguments on legal points on that day.
A total of 31 prosecution witnesses testified against Subhan, narrating the heinous crimes committed by the Jamaat leader during the War of Liberation. But none vouched for Subhan, despite the tribunal allowed the defence to produce three defence witnesses.
