Proposed budget to reduce foreign dependency, JS told

The proposed budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year would help Bangladesh reduce dependency on the foreign countries to build a prosperous country.
The lawmakers from both treasury and opposition benches made these remarks while taking part in the general discussion on the new budget in the Jatiya
Sangsad with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
The participants termed the proposed budget a brave step of the government to build a self-reliant country which would be able to ensure the economic emancipation of the mass people.
They are very much hopeful of implementation of the budget’s development programmes to achieve the targeted 7 percent GDP growth rate in the next fiscal year through all-out cooperation.
The MPs hailed the proposed budget and thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Finance Minister AMA Muhith for placing a people-oriented and time-befitting budget, what they said, a journey towards fulfilling the Vision-21 to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country.
Finance Minister A M A Muhith placed a Taka 2 lakh 95 thousand 100 crore national budget for fiscal year 2015-16 (FY16) on June 4 in parliament with 7.0 percent GDP growth target and aiming at transforming Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041.
Taking part in the discussion, treasury bench member AKM Rahmatullah termed the proposed budget as people-oriented and poor-friendly that would be able to achieve 7 percent GDP growth of the proposed budget.
He said the new budget was aimed at building Bangladesh a middle-income country in the world by 2021.
