Bangabandhu murder case: Property of condemned convict Rashed forfeited

Hajiganj upazila administration on behalf of the government has forfeited 1.15 decimals of land belonging to Rashed Chowdhury, a fugitive condemned convict in the Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman murder case.
He is the son of late Shihabuddin from Sonaimuri village under Barakul union of Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur district.

Md. Abu Hanif, Officer-in-Charge Md. Shah Alam and Assistant Land Officer Moazzaem Hossain displayed the signboard on the land in question.
The UNO said, the action has been taken as per court’s order. From now on, no individual or group of individuals will be allowed to demand the property in full or a part thereof. The government will take care of it and lawful action will be taken against the trespasser.
It may be mentioned that a group of misguided army officer including Lieutenant Colonel M.A.Rashed Chowdhury killed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the night of August 15 in 1975. After change of government in 1996, a murder case was filed against Rashed Chowdhury and the court awarded death penalty to him and ordered forfeiture of the property.
