Launching the Child Helpline-1098, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged all to build a beautiful
society by grooming children with good attitude and brining an end to child repression.
“Human beings have both good and bad attitudes. But awareness has to be built so that their good attitudes are flourished instead of the beastly ones; and the Social Welfare Ministry will to play the lead role in this regard,” she said while launching the helpline. Hasina said people will have to awaken their own human qualities imbued with the thinking that they may be affected if they want to cause harm to others.
Sheikh Hasina formally launched the ‘Child Helpline – 1098’ from her official residence Ganobhaban through a videoconference to provide free telephone service to children who are facing violence, abuse and exploitation.
