Speakers at a programme underscored the need for following developed waste management system in Jahangirnagar University campus area to keep the environment of the educational institution neat and clean.
JU Waste Management Committee of the university made the remarks at a meeting held on the fifth instant at the senate hall.
Speakers at the programme stressed the need for the waste management system in the campus area as the number of people will increase in the upcoming days during the winter season for guest birds.
Presided over by Professor Khabir Uddin, JU Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Abul Hossain addressed the discussion as the chief guest.
JU Pro VC Abul Hossain said, “Everybody should be more careful to use dustbin in the campus area. We need campaign to raise awareness among the general students, teachers, officials and outsiders in this regard”.
Professor Khabir Uddin said, “Employees who are directly involved with waste management on the campus should be more attentive at their respective workplaces”.
JU Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique and the members of the Waste Management Committee also addressed the meeting, among others.
