Proper policy to make city life lively stressed

Speakers called for taking proper policy and planning to make city life lively ensuring all civic amenities for the common people.
“Proper policy and planning are must to make city life lively and professionals can play a vital role to this end,” they said this on Thursday while speaking at a function at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theater auditorium in the city.
UNDP and the Access to Information Programme, Prime Minister Office, and other concerned service oriented organizations arranged the seven-day programme ‘Smart City Campaign’ which began from Wednesday.
Policy Research Institute Executive Director Dr Ahasan H Mansur, Department of Civil Engineering of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Professor Dr Shamsul Haque, Department of Urban and Regional Planning of BUET Professor Dr Ishrat Islam, Department of Civil of BRAC University Professor Dr Adnan Zillur Morshed, BD Jobs Founder and Executive Officer Fahim Mashruru and BD Cyclist Moderator Fuad Ahasan Chowdhury, among others, addressed the programme with Architect Iqbal Habib in the chair.
Iqbal Habib said the professionals would have to be discharged their duties with utmost sincerity. Negligence in duty of professionals would create problems in every sector in civic life, he added.
