State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury gave directives to all the concerned to take appropriate measures for maintaining disciplines and strengthening monitoring of all the projects being implemented under the shipping department. The minister, also Organising Secretary of Awami League, gave the orders on Monday while addressing a meeting on development, financial and administrative affairs of the shipping department at Shipping Ministry here. Shipping Secretary Md Abdus Samad and Director General of Shipping Department Commodore Syed Ariful Islam, among others, were present at the meeting.
The meeting directed the Department to resubmit the DPPs (Development Project Proposals) after speedily amending those before the Ministry. Besides, the meeting underscored the need for making four laws of the department time befitting as well as translating those into Bangla. The meeting was informed that approval of the draft of the law titled Bangladesh Flag Vessels (protection) Law 2019 is under process.
