Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Wednesday said the government is working relentlessly to expand technology-based education to create skilled workforce in the country.
“We have already taken various initiatives to introduce technology-based education to enhance quality of education,” he told a function at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) here, an official release said.
Commandant of MIST Major General Md Abul Khair and senior officials, among others, were present at the function.
Nahid urged the educational institutions to supplement the efforts of the government to build a technologically advanced country.
He said a good progress has been made in the education sector in the past eight years as the government has implemented different effective initiatives to expand and improve quality of education.
The education ministry sources said the government has increased students enrolment to 14 percent from one aiming to create skilled workforce.
