Promotion and marketing of tourism in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is geographically located in an advantageous position from tourism point of view. It is in the Macro Asiatic Air Traffic Corridor. Being so located it is so comparatively easier for this country to share this traffic for promoting tourism to Bangladesh.
This strategic location of Bangladesh beneficial for improving International Tourism and more particularly tourism within the region.
The story of Bangladesh unfolds over time -both memorial and immemorial and it reads like a fairy tale woven in so many folklores and anecdotes. It runs in a historical continuum ever since the hoary past when the Austro -Asians inhabited this reign followed by the Dravidian migrants from west India. Subsequently came the Aryans who poured into this tranquil plain over centuries and founded settlements.
The receding mile-post of distant times or what is otherwise known as antiquity can still now be relieved when one strolls in silent wonder through the relics of pundranagar (Mohasthangarh)in the district of Bogra or Lakhnawati (Gour) in the district of Rajshahi .The layers of history have erased those relics .But then those are merely the reminders of the past.
A marketing philosopher observes : “After the Aryans ,The Mongolians from Tibet and Burma also tricked in then came the Arabs ,the Persians ,the Turks and the Afghan’s .And lastly ,the Portuguese and the English. The eternal land of Bangladesh absorbed everyone in a happy blending .The texture of population retains essentially its indigent quality. From savant to an invader, from a pirate to colonial settlers, everyone was transferred as if by the touch of a magic wand into a homogenous, mono-lingual people imbued with the rare quality of forbearance, love and compassion. No other land in the world could possibly blend so many different peoples and their cultural imprints into one monistic model of a singular nation and this is Bangladesh.”
To achieve any plan target a strategy has to be worked out for determining the priority, for selecting the best alternative for obtaining optimum result and for reaching the target within the minimum possible time. In tourism also a pragmatic approach is essential .The social benefit of tourism is no less important than its economic values.
Tourism is a product which has to the properly marketed. The marketing method will have to be effective and precise.
Unless we have aggressive marketing approach we cannot achieve the desired result .India ,Pakistan ,Srilanka and various other neighboring countries have achieved foe better results than us only because they have been able to make effective marketing .
Tourism, now -a- days plan their travel long in advance .They are to be told in their originating places about the potentials of Bangladesh in the itinerary.
Proposal
1. Prepare write up on archeological sites and monuments and touristic places of Bangladesh in general and Buddhist relics in particular depicting the development made and the facilities created and available for the tourist visit the sites.
2. The write up-will be in Bengali and English to be used in the print media and well as electronic media.
3. Bangladesh Betar in their regular program on (BwZnvm HwZn¨) and Magazine Programmes would include the same in Home services of Betar (Af¨všÍixb).
4. Bangladesh Betar may be requested for broadcast the same in the external services (ewnt wek¦t Kvh©µg ) broadcast the same in English and Bengali.
5. The facilities, development and recreational activities available may be projected through Betar and other private media .Contract may be made with Bangladesh Betar and other electronic media.
6. Private TV channel may be contacted for documentary film for the development, promotion and marketing of tourism.
7. Visit of cultural heritage sites and touristic places may be arranged for the journalist of different newspapers and apprise them development and the facilities available for the tourist and visitor there in for publication in newspapers.
