Promote women entrepreneurship to accelerate development

Speakers at a function Thursday stressed for
promoting women entrepreneurship to further enhance economic growth through boosting trade and commerce in the country.
They were addressing the concluding ceremony of an eight-day long training course on ‘Basic Beautification and Cutting on Tailoring’ under the Development and Expansion of Women Entrepreneurship Programme at the RCCI auditorium in the city.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs organised the training course with the assistance of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
Forty female entrepreneurs of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) and RCCI participated in the course with 20 each on ‘Basic Beautification’ and 20 others on ‘Basic Cutting on Tailoring’ trades.
After completion of their training course, the participating women entrepreneurs today received one beautification box each and another 20 women entrepreneurs got one sewing machine each at free of cost.
Dilruba Begum coordinated the training course and conducted various sessions as the resource person.
President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest while its Senior Vice-president Mostoba Hossain Ripan delivered various positive aspects of the training course. President of RWCCI Anwar Ferdousi Poly, its Senior Vice-president Shahanaz Parveen Shahin, participant and owner of Adiba Batiks Rawshan Ara Adiba, basis beautification trainers Sifat Ara and Trainer on Tailoring Cutting Dilruba Hosna addressed the occasion.
The chief guest thanked the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs for arranging the time-befitting training as it would help the women entrepreneurs of the backward region in flourishing their businesses.
He urged the participating women entrepreneurs for utilizing the knowledge and expertises acquired from the training course properly and establish themselves as successful entrepreneurs to contribute to the national economy.
