The long-lasting severe flood has caused extensive damage to the roads and drains of the Kulaura municipality. The failure of Gugalichara at 3 places caused irreparable damage to crops. 11 km of Kulaura municipality road have been damaged in this prolonged flood.
The amount of road damage is said to be around Tk27 cr.
Various areas of Kulaura municipality can be seen on the surface, in the last flood, 3 villages of Ward 1, 2 villages of Ward 2, Upazila Administration area located in Ward 3, 7 areas including Sadar Hospital, partial areas of Ward 4, 5, 6 and 8 of Kulaura Municipality were flooded and this flood Lasts about 1 month. Gugalichhra Canal in Ward No. 6 broke at 3 places during the flood.
The affected roads are Bisrakandi-Sunapur-Bihala road of municipality No. 1 ward, Sadekpur village road, Bihala Muhibur Rahman Govt. Primary School road, Dakhiyarpur road of Ward No. 2, Nursery North side road and Shibir road, Notunpara road of Ward No. 3, Hospital road, Upazila Parishad Road, Station Road, Ward No. 4 Magura Road, South Magura Road, 5 No
Ward Bhangari Potti Road, Uslapara Road, Playeround North Side Road, Ward No. 6 Bholanath Road, East Joypasha Road, Gugalichhara West Side, Garr Road, Ward No. 8 Chatolgaon Eidgah Road, South Chatolgaon Road have suffered extensive damage. The sign of the danger of flood has been visible as the water recedes from these areas. The peaches and stones of different parts of them were washed away by the flood water

Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Executive Engineer of Kulaura Municipality, said that about 11.00 km of various roads in the town and neighborhood of the municipal area have been damaged due to this long-lasting flood. Damage done He also said that the amount of this loss is about 27 crore taka. Municipal Mayor Principal Sipar Uddin Ahmed said that it is beyond the capacity of the municipality to repair the existing damaged roads by meeting the establishment costs of the low-income municipality. He said that the government needs development assistance funds.
