Progs to celebrate birth anniv of Ramakrishna

The Ramakrishna Mission is set to launch a four-day programme to mark the 182nd birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna today.
The mission that stages celebrations as an annual festival said the programmes would begin today with special worships and recitation from the holy Gita at its premises in the capital.
On the opening day, Law Minister Anisul Haq will join a discussion titled “Ideology of Ramakrishna for renaissance of universal brotherhood” at 4 pm when noted singer Asit Dey will also perform at a classical musical soiree to be followed by a drama to be staged by Lokonatya Gosthi.
The second day programme would begin with Padabali Kirtan at 1 pm when State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will join a function to be performed by Ramakrishna Mission School students.
In the evening Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Bisarjon’ will be staged.
On Thursday Ramayan Song will be performed by Sree Nimai Das and his troupe. Noted singer Bijan Mistri will perform the favourate songs of Ramakrishna.
Railways Minister Mujibul Haq will join a discussion on ‘Ideology of Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda to flourish human values.
The discussion will be followed by a soiree of devotional songs when noted singer Ferdous Ara and Priyanka Gope will perform.
Mohaprasad will distribute among devotees on the midday of Friday, the concluding day of the festival.
In the afternoon, a cultural programme will be staged by the children and in festival will be wrapped up with devotional songs to be sang by noted singer Subir Nandi and Rathindranath Roy.
