Progs for Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebration to be finalized in this month

Programmes for the celebration of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be finalised within this month as all preparations are being taken in this regard.
The information was revealed at a meeting of the “National
Implementation Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of the
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman” recently at the International Mother Language Institute in the city.Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain and other members of the committee were present at the meeting. National Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting while Prime Minister’s former Principal Secretary and Chief Coordinator of the Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury moderated it. Rafiqul Islam said Bangladesh is going to celebrate the birth centenary for presenting the life and works of Bangabandhu among the people, especially new generation, and accelerating development activities and services for building a hunger and poverty free ‘Sonar Bangla’.
Muhith said Bangladesh is going to start the celebration of the birth centenary from March 17 this year and the programmes for celebration of birth centenary will be finalised within this month.
“The inauguration function of the birth centenary will be held at the National Parade Ground. With the participation of the whole nation, we will celebrate the birth centenary,” he added.
Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said there will be an inauguration programme on March 17 this year where eminent personalities from home and abroad will attend.
