The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday (Thursday) submitted a progress report in connection with the enquiry of Sagar-Runi murder after they had received a DNA certificate from a US laboratory.

Officer (IO) of the case, Assistant Police Super Wares Ali, submitted the report. But the DNA report received from the US has not yet been reviewed fully. The IO told the court that they had received the report some days ago and it was being reviewed elaborately along with the crime picture.
Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey fixed November 2 for submission of the next report after hearing on Thursday’s progress report.
The date for submission of the probe report had been deferred 27 times in 31 months till Thursday.
It is worth to mention that Massranga TV News Editor Sagar Sarwar and ATN Bangla Senior Reporter Meherun Runi were brutally killed in their rented flat in the capital’s Rajabazar area on February 11 in 2012.
