Professional training for accelerating development stressed

Adequate professional training always enhances skill and works as driving force for anyone to achieve success in professional as well as personal life to accelerate national development.
The opinion came at launching ceremony of 3-week basic training, including arms, arranged for 80 Ansar-VDP members at District Training Centre of the volunteer organisation in Mahiganj area of the city today, a release said yesterday.
The training course is being arranged for Ansar-VDP members of the 18-35 year age group under its Training Programme to turn them into efficient professionals and skilled workforces in becoming self-reliant through income generation activities.
District Commandant of Ansar-VDP Md Abdus Samad attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest with Sadar Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer Golzar Hossain in the chair.
Kawnia Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer Saiful Islam and departmental trainer of the organisation Abdul Hye attended the ceremony as special guests.
The district and upazila level officials of Ansar-VDP, trainee members of the volunteer organisations, internal and external technical trainers and resource persons were present.
Golzar Hossain said the Ansar-VDP members were contributing to build congenial atmosphere for rural uplift through rendering sincere services, creating public awareness side by side with curbing social crimes and curses.
The chief guest said Ansar-VDP members already turned into driving force to accelerate rural development and eradicate poverty in building a middle income digital Bangladesh by 2021, and subsequently a developed country by 2041.
He suggested the participants to acquire adequate knowledge, expertise and skill from the training course in achieving professional excellence and self-reliance to lead better life and serve the nation with utmost sincerity.
Call to ensure legal assistance to disabled people: Human rights activists and leaders of different organisations working for welfare of the disabled people at a meeting have stressed on extending legal assistance to disabled people for ensuring justice.
They expressed the view at a meeting, organised by District Protibondhi Legal Aid Committee (DPLAC), at its office in Keranipara area here for further strengthening its activities recently.
