Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus met President of European Parliament Martin Schulz at his office in Brussels on Tuesday.
They discussed various issues including a European social business program aimed at turning unemployed youth into entrepreneurs, working to
provide productive and enjoyable life to old people and microcredit to low- income people to create self-employment, said a press release.
Schulz accepted Professor Yunus’s invitation to speak at the Global Social Business Summit to be held in Berlin on November 5-6 this year.
Professor Yunus addressed a meeting of European parliament members on the need to redesign economics and policies to create a more sustainable world, the release added.
