Md. Mostafa Samshuzzaman, Professor of Coastal and Marine Fisheries, Sylhet Agricultural University has taken charge as the Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Department. He became the 8th Student Counseling Director of the University. Prior to this, he held various important positions including the departmental chairman of the university, assistant provost, treasurer of the teachers’ association.

After joining, Samshuzzaman sought the cooperation of all in working for the betterment of the quality of education as well as in the overall progress of the university. Dr. Samshuzzaman is the eldest son of Md. Imam Hossain, a heroic freedom fighter of Dhanbari upazila of Tangail district. In his personal life he is the father of 2 daughters and 1 son.
