Professor Dr. M. SAM Mannan, the Executive Director of the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center (MKOPSC) in the USA, died on Tuesday in Texas, said a message received here on Sunday.
He was 64.
He left behind his wife and two daughters to mourn.
Born in Cumilla in 1954, Mannan obtained his bachelor degree in 1978 from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in USA in 1983. He received Ph.D. in 1986 in Chemical Engineering.
