Professor Dr Helal Uddin Khan Shamsul Arefin was laid to eternal rest on Sunday at Banani graveyard in the city.
Earlier, a large number of his colleagues, students and admirers of Dhaka University (DU) joined his Namaz-e-Janaza at the university’s central mosque, a DU release said.
Before the Namaz-e-Janaza, DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique paid rich tribute to Professor Helal Uddin by placing wreaths at his coffin at “Aparajeyo Bangla” on the university campus.
