Prof. Dr. Mojib made new BRUR Treasurer

Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality of Dhaka University (DU) Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahamed has been appointed as new Treasurer of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR).
“By order of the President and Chancellor of the university, the Ministry of Education issued a notification on Tuesday in accordance with section 13 (1) of the Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur Act 2009 appointing him to the post for four years,” a press release said on Wednesday.
The appointment will be effective from the date of his joining to the post, reports BSS.
In 1983, Dr. Mojib started his career as a lecturer in Dhaka University. Before joining at DU, he passed the B.Com (Hons) and M.Com examinations from the same university and secured second and third positions respectively in the merit list.
He secured 10th position in merit list from Arts Group in SSC examinations in 1975 and first position in merit list from Commerce Group in HSC examinations in 1977 under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi.
 
He obtained a Masters degree in Accountancy from the University of Glasgow in the UK under Commonwealth Scholarship in 1987 and a Masters degree in Accounting Science from the University of Illinois in the USA under Full Bright Scholarship in 1992.
 
He obtained a Ph.D. degree in 1998 from Old Dominion University in Virginia, USA.
 
During his higher studies, Prof Mojib won various scholarships, including gold medal, at different stages as recognition of merit at national and international levels.
His 26 articles have been published in the national and international journals. He has presented essays on stock market topics in 18 international seminars.
Dr. Mojib was born in a respectable Muslim family of Bhandaria upazila town in Pirojpur district on March 1, 1960.
