Eminent academician and physician Prof. Dr. Faridul Alam joined as the Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) recently.
BUHS, a sister concern of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh is the first ever Private University in the country dedicated to health sector.
He was born in Boalmari Upazilla in Faridpur district on December 3 in 1955.
Graduated in MBBS from the University of Dhaka in 1982, Prof Dr. Alam awarded PhD in Nuclear Medicine from the Same University in 2003. He was awarded DTM&H from Liverpool University, UK in 1986 and IAEA from John Hopkins University, USA in 1995.
He bears a long versatile career in medical education and practices. Prof Dr. Alam worked in the Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzib Medical University as a Director & Professor and also conducted various research works at its hospital.
Prior to joining Prof Dr. Alam has worked in the same University as a Professor & Head in the Department of Radiology.
