Professor Dilip Kumar Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture on “New Horizons in Sanskrit Studies” was held on Wednesday at the RC Majumder Arts auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).
Prof Dilip Kumar Bhattacharya Research Centre of DU organised the event. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Nasreen Ahmad presided over the function while former Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi Prof Radhavallabh Tripathi delivered the memorial lecture.
Chairman of the Department of Sanskrit Prof Dulal Kanti Bhowmik and Prof Narayan Chandra Biswas also addressed the programme while Director of the research centre Prof Madhabi Rani Chanda conducted it. Dr Nasreen Ahmad thanked the key-note speaker for delivering his informative lecture.
She hoped that the teachers and students of Sanskrit Department would be highly benefited from this lecture.
Prof Radhavallabh Tripathi stressed the need for development of Sanskrit education as well as cultivation of knowledge of Sanskrit to promote human civilization.
