A condolence meeting and a Doa Mahfil for Professor SM Azizul Haq of Dhaka University (DU) Mathematics Department were held on Saturday at Rezaur Rahman auditorium of the university’s AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique attended the meeting organized by Mathematics Department of the university.
Mathematics Department Chairman Professor Amulya Chandra Mandol, teachers of the department, Applied Mathematics Department and Mathematics Society members were present at the meeting.
Prof Azizul Haq passed away on April 13 last in Boston, USA.
He joined the Mathematics Department of Dhaka University in 1949 and retired in 1982. He served as hall provost, faculty dean and department chairman of the university.
He was the founder president of Bangladesh Mathematics Society.
