Eminent freedom fighter Professor Alhaj M Abul Hossain Sikder , Acting Vice Chancellor of Atish Dipankar University , Pro-VC of Prime University ,reputed social worker and Vice President of Barguna District Awami League who died at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital s on Thursday ( July 22) due to massive heart attack was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Mokamia in Betagi Upazila under Barguna district after paying tributes by the state on Sunday.
He was 65. He left behind his wife, 3 sons , one daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His Namaj-e-Janaza was held at Mokamia Darbar Sharif at Betagi ,Banani, Mirpur and Uttara in Dhaka on Friday and Saturday . People from all walks of life attended his Namaj-e-Janazas.
Local MP Direndrea Devnath Shambu, Upazila Chairman Md Shahajahan Kabir , Poura Mayor Alhaj ABM Golam Habir , Barguna Press Club President Hasanur Rahman Jhantu, Betagi Press Club President Mizanur Rahman Moznu and General Secretary Shahidul Islam Montu and the Weekly Bishkhali Editor Abdus Salam Siddiqui have condoled his death and expressed sympathy to his family members.
