Process underway to fill vacant posts of Social Services

The recruitment process is at final stage to fill up the vacant posts of social workers at 112 unions under Directorate of Social Services as steps will be taken to publish a circular in newspapers. This was informed at the 8th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with committee chairman Rashed Khan Menon in the chair. Committee members Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Sagufta Yasmin, Bodruddoza Md. Farhad Hossain and A KM Sarwar Jahan and Aroma Dutta attended the meeting.
The meeting also was informed that a total of 437 posts of assistant social service officer in revenue sector have been created on temporary basis. Besides, a recruiting proposal is under process at the Public Service Commission (PSC) for recruiting in 36 first class posts out of 28 vacant posts and 70 second class posts out of 343 vacant posts under Social Welfare Directorate.
Besides, process is underway to call a meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister to upgrade existing National Foundation for Development of the Disabled Persons into a directorate.
