A Dhaka court on Tuesday once again set July 28 for submission of probe report in the case lodged over murder of Islamic scholar and TV channel personality Maulana Nurul Islam Faruki. Magistrate Devbarata Biswas of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka set the date as police inspector Arshed Ali Mandal of the investigation agency CID could not submit the report on Tuesday. Maulana Faruki was brutally murdered at his 174 East Razabazar residence of the capital at about 9 pm on August 28, 2014. After the murder, the victim’s son Foysal Faruki filed the case against eight to ten unidentified miscreants with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Faruki was the international secretary of the Ahle Sunnat O-el Jamaat Bangladesh and the ‘Khatib’ of the Supreme Court mosque.
