A Dhaka court yesterday asked the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to submit the probe reports of two graft cases filed against Regent Hospital Chairman Mohammad Shahed and several others on misappropriating Tk 4.22 crore from two banks by February 16. Dhaka’s Senior Special Jude KM Imrul Kayesh passed the order as the ACC could not submit the report on Sunday.
Earlier, January 3 was fixed for submission of the reports. The first case was filed on July 22 last year against Shahed and three others for misappropriating about Tk 1.51 crore of NRB Bank Limited.
Other accused are Regent Hospital Managing Editor Md Ibrahim Khalil, former Vice-President at SME Division of NRB Bank Wahid-bin-Ahmed and former Principal Officer of the bank Sohanur Rahman.
The second case was filed on July 27, last year against Shahed and three others over the misappropriation of Tk 2.71 crore of Farmers Bank Limited.
Other three accused people are Mahbubul Haque Chisty of former audit committee of Farmers Bank Limited (now Padma Bank Limited), his son Rashedul Haque Chisty and Regent Hospital Managing Director Md Ibrahim Khalil.
