The seven-member probe body on Monday submitted its progress report on the Narayanganj seven-murder case to the office of the Attorney General (AG).
Deputy Secretary for Law Mizanur Rahman Khan, a
member of the committee, submitted the report to Deputy Attorney General ASM Nazmul Hoque.
After submitting the report, Mizanur Rahman said: “It is hoped that we will be able to submit the final investigation report within four weeks.”
Earlier in the day, RAB Director General and Inspector General of Police (IGP) submitted their probe reports with the Attorney General’s office.
ASM Nazmul Haque said that the report would be presented before the court on June 4.
He said, “The progress reports of IGP and RAB authorities have been handed over. The report will be presented to the court as an affidavit on June 4.”
ASM Nazmul Haque said that the progress report of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is yet to be presented.
Earlier on May 7, as per the High Court directive, the public administration ministry has constituted a seven-member probe body to investigate the abductions and killing incidents in Narayanganj.
On April 27, seven people, including NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam, were abducted from the city. Later, their bodies were found floating in River Shitalakkhya on April 30.
