Illegally transferring of rice: Probe body formed in Barisal

Barisal Food Department on Tuesday formed a three-member probe committee in connection of attempted transfer of 400 sacks of rice (20 metric tons) from Barisal LSD godown to Khulna on Monday.
Amjad Hossain, Barisal Regional Controller of Food, said Mashiur Rahman, Acting District Controller of Food, will lead the probe committee along with Shafikul Islam, assistant manager of Barisal central supply depot (CSD) and Abdul Mannan, maintenance officer of district food office. The committee asked to submit their investigation report within next three working days, RC food added.
Among the five employees of food department detained by RAB-8, Abdur Rahim, deputy assistant food inspector and Abdullah Al Mamun, Barisal LSD godown in charge, were released and handed over to food department official after interrogation. Md. Shamsuddin, Md. Kabir Khan. Md. Arif, security guards of Barisal LSD engaged in loading rice on truck, till this report were under custody of RAB-8 for more interrogation in this connection, the RC food told.
