Economic Reporter :
Leaders of the Private Radio Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (PROAB) demanded for allocating of more airwave.
They have urged the State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim to increase airwave for private radios during a meeting held in the secretariat in the capital recently.
Discrimination in allocating airwave is hurting FM radio owners, they claimed.
According to private radio owners, at present 87.5 to 108 megahertz frequency is allocated for them.
But, the imported cars are only equipped for listening to 80 to 90 megahertz frequency radio stations, so people can not listen to radio stations with frequency over 90 megahertz, they said.
So, the radio stations over 90 megahertz frequency are not getting advertisement revenues, they added.
