A pro-government organisation of professionals has said it will keep watch on activities of the new mayors of Dhaka and Chittagong who they supported in the city polls.
‘Sahasra Nagarik Committee’ made the announcement at a media conference in Dhaka on Thursday.
Committee member Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul said they would criticise the mayors if they strayed from their promises.
Ruling Awami League-endorsed mayor candidates won Tuesday’s polls.
The Nagarik Committee announced its support for the ruling party-backed candidates after pro-BNP professionals announced city polls aspirants.
