Pro-BNP lawyers observed court boycott programme across the country on Sunday in protest against police obstruction to hold their scheduled rally on the Supreme Court premises.
The court boycott programme began at 10 am and continued till 1 pm yesterday.
As the court boycott programme began, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a platform of pro-BNP lawyers, brought out a protest procession at Bar Bhaban in the capital around 10 am. The gate to enter the Supreme Court from the Bar Association building was kept locked.
Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum on Saturday announced a five-day programme, including court boycott on Sunday, in protest against police obstruction to their scheduled rally on the Supreme Court premises.
Forum president Rafiqul Islam Miah announced the programme from a rally held at the Jatiya Press Club.
Being barred by the police from holding its protest rally on the Supreme Court premises, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum finally held the programme at the Jatiya Press Club on Saturday.
Their other programmes include bringing out black-flag processions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday while forming human chains at bar associations across the country on Tuesday.
