A faction of pro-Awami League teachers of Jahangirnagar University (JU) demanded the resignation of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Farzana Islam claiming that she had taken many ‘illegal decisions’ that are contrary to the interest of the university.

Shikkhak Samaj’, made the demand at a press conference held at the conference room of JU Mathematical and Physical Sciences Faculty on Sunday afternoon.
‘Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam had taken many decisions which went against the interest of teachers, students and stakeholders of the university. The university is going to fall in deep crisis for her autocratic behaviour,” he said.
‘Different problems of the university including session backlog in different departments, drugs and ragging have deepened because of some unwise decisions of the Vice-Chancellor. We cannot let her to run this university in such way. So, we are demanding her resignation as early as possible,” he added.
