Pro-AL lawyers declares panel for SCBA polls

Pro-Awami League lawyers’ forum Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad (SASP) on Monday announced the panel for Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) executive committee elections for 2020-21 sessions.
Incumbent SCBA president Advocate AM Amin Uddin picked up for the
president post in upcoming poll for the second time, while Advocate Shah Monjurul Hoque nominated for the post of secretary.
Newly-elected Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh declared their names with 12 other members as a panel in the Supreme Court auditorium in the Monday afternoon. Pro-government Supreme Court lawyers also gave felicitation to the DSCC mayor Taposh.
Advocate Shakila Rowshan and advocate Moniruzzaman will contest for the posts of vice president, Barrister Imtiaz Faruk and advocate Rakib Uddin Bhuiyan will vie for the posts of assistant secretary and Dr Md Enamul Hoque will appear for the post of treasurer from the panel.
Advocate Targel Hossain, advocate Safayet Hossain Sajib, advocate Humayun Kabir, advocate Jaglul Kabir, advocate Md Mashiur Rahman, advocate Mintu Kumar Mondol and advocate Kamruzzaman will appear for the seven posts of executive member from the panel.
The SCBA poll is likely to be held on March 11 and 12.
Earlier on February 5, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a platform of pro-BNP lawyers, announced their panel partly for the election of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Former SCBA president and BNP vice chairman senior advocate Zainul Abedin will contest in the post of the president and forum’s convening committee member Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal will fight for the general secretary post.
