The prize distribution ceremony of the WALTON Premier Division Chess League held on Monday at the conference-room of National Sports Council.
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), head of sports and welfare department of WALTON Group, was present as the chief guest in the ceremony and distributed prizes.
Gazi Shayiful Tarique, chairman of chess league committee and vice-president of Bangladesh Chess Federation, presided over the ceremony.
Champions SAIF Sporting Club led by captain NI Mahmuda Hoque Chowdhury Moly, GM Niaz Murshed, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain Razib received Taka one lakh as prize money.
Runners-up Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club lead by captain of team WIM Rani Hamid, GM Ziaur Rahman and IM Mabu Sufian Shakil got Taka 60 thousand as prize money while third place holders Bangladesh Navy Chess lead by captain FM Sk Nasir Ahmed, FM Kh Aminul Islam, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Mohammad Javed, Md Sharif Hossain and SM Sharon received Taka 40 thousand as prize money.
