GM Ziaur Rahman Zia of Bangladesh Navy emerged unbeaten champion in the Amin Mohammad Group AST Beverage Ltd. International Rating Chess Tournament s held on Sunday at National Sports Council Tower Auditorium Lounge.
Zia earned maximum 9 points. FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy finished runner-up with 8 points while FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club became 3rd with 7.5 points.
Five players earned 7 points each. Their positions are: 4th-Uten, 5th-CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Bangladesh Navy, 6th-Feroz Ahmed, 7th-CM Monir Hossain of Saif Powertec, 8th-CM Sohel Chowdhury of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club.
Additional IGP of Bangladesh Police and Head of CID Sheikh Hemayet Hossain distributed the prizes among winners as the chief guest.
